M.P Abdirahman Meecaad Tamraysay, who is a member of the House of Representatives of Somaliland, has played a leading role in the extraction of gold in the mountains of the Erigavo region. He opened one of the largest mining companies in Somaliland in the Cirshiida area of the region, which is said to have greatly changed the economic activity and job creation in the region. Important issues related to this project include: Black Root Company: Member of Parliament Meecaad founded a company called Black Root Company in the Sanaag region, which is involved in the extraction and processing of mineral resources in the Erigavo mountains, but no one can confirm the actual amount of gold produced. 

Development Projects: Benefiting from these resources and investments, he has carried out economic infrastructure projects in the areas he was elected from (such as Midhisho and Cirshiida), especially a road connecting the Kulmiye and Cirshiida areas, which has created great suspicion and doubt among some of the public about smuggling, given that his vehicles can freely pass through the ancient Tabca road. 

Diversity of Public Opinion: Although his supporters are convinced that these projects are job creation and new development that has been added to the region, on the other hand, there is a section of the public that expresses concern about how natural resources are managed and the impact that the chemicals used to refine gold can have on the environment and the lives of livestock and people.
